Alan Wurman is a Film and Theatre Composer, and Music Producer based in Los Angeles, CA.
He was awarded the “Grand Prize” for best song in the MTV sponsored artist financing group “Ourstage” (USA), as well as “Best Artist” by the UK artist financing competition “Slice The Pie”, both times with his band “Sofia” in which he composed and performed as keyboard/piano player and lead vocalist.
He entered the professional drama world by working as an actor and singer in the theatre company “Teatro Maccabi” in his hometown Santiago (Chile), where he eventually became the Composer and Musical director for the Musical “Modin” staged in “Teatro Arena” (Santiago).
From a very young age he was interested in all sorts of creative art forms. He successfully co-founded the Media Company “Zoom-In” and performed as “Corporative Marketing Director” for the international e-commerce
marketplace “Cuponatic.com” producing and directing advertisement for both TV and Cinema as well has composing the music for both media as well.
Not long after, he founded the klezmer music orchestra “Mishkanti” where he performed as the conductor and musical director.
With Hollywood in his mind he moved to Boston, MA. and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a double major in “Film Scoring” and “Contemporary Writing and Production” with a minor in “Conducting”.
Alan has recently finished his work as Composer and Musical Director for two musical plays, “The Moon Princess” (Tokyo), and the Off-Broadway new Musical “Captain Filthy Fred” (New York 2018). He is presently working in several projects including the score for the Hollywood feature film “KOFA” to be released in 2019.
